Boolean logic works with two values, True and ______, written as 1 and 0. A logic ______ is an electronic component that turns binary inputs into one binary output. The three gates are AND, OR and NOT. AND and OR each take two inputs, but NOT takes one. In a logic diagram the inputs sit on the left and the output on the ______.
The AND gate gives 1 only when ______ inputs are 1, and its symbol has a flat back and a round front. The OR gate gives 1 when at least one input is 1, and its symbol has a curved back and a ______ front. The NOT gate has one input and its output is the ______ of its input, shown by a triangle with a circle at its tip.
A ______ table lists every possible combination of inputs and the output for each one. A circuit with three inputs needs ______ rows, since 2 to the power of 3 gives that many. With more than one gate, add an ______ column in the middle of the table for the result of each gate, then work out the final output. Expressions combine operators, such as A AND NOT B. Any part inside ______ is worked out first. To solve a scenario, write the expression, draw the logic diagram and complete the table. Other notation is accepted, like T and F for 1 and 0, and the symbol ______ for OR.
