Then choose Pivot table from the ______ menu and place it on a ______ so the original data is untouched.

The pivot table editor has four areas. The ______ area holds the column you want to group by, and each different value becomes one row. The ______ area holds the column that will be calculated, such as tickets sold. Adding a second grouping across the top uses the ______ area, which builds a two-dimensional pivot table. The ______ area narrows the data down, for example showing one year group only.

Use ______ to add the values up and get a total for each group. Use ______ when group sizes differ, because it is fairer than a total. A bigger group would have a bigger total even if each person paid less. Use ______ to count only the cells that hold numbers and ignore any text. Use ______ to count how many records there are, including text such as customer names.

You read answers straight from the table, such as the group with the highest or lowest count. The ______ row adds all of the groups together.
